“Riverdance” veteran fiddle soloist and two-time All Ireland champion Patrick Mangan returns with a new album of wintery tunes and songs. “The Frost Is All Over” is a musical reflection of the winter months, as well as the unique historical moment we are collectively experiencing. Recorded entirely remotely over the month of November, 2020, the album features an impressive lineup of special guests from both sides of the Atlantic and includes traditional favorites, original compositions, and a few surprises.

About Patrick Mangan

Brooklyn-based fiddler Patrick Mangan made his Broadway debut at age 16 with “Riverdance on Broadway” in 2001 and has since performed with the Grammy award winning Irish dance production and other luminaries of Celtic music in over 30 countries on every continent.

Recent performance highlights have included the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Moya Brennan of Clannad, Lincoln Center with “Riverdance” composer Bill Whelan, and frequent appearances on Broadway and on tour with the hit show “Come From Away.” Pat is also a regular featured guest at New York’s most renowned traditional Irish music session spots such as The 11th Street Bar and The Dead Rabbit.

Growing up in New York, Pat was mentored by some of the most revered fiddlers in the tradition including Brian Conway, Tony DeMarco, Andy McGann, and Paddy Reynolds, amidst a vibrant Irish music community. In addition to his passion for live performance, Pat is a fiddle teacher, recording artist, and award-winning composer.

Here's What People Are Saying About "The Frost Is All Over"

'The Frost is All Over' is a lovely album. Mangan’s playing is, of course, top tier, but it’s how well the various musicians he’s enlisted come together in artistic collaboration (despite distance and circumstance) that gives this album its real life. Although an album for all seasons, the wintry theme is well handled and defined, and will help give this album perennial appeal.” - Daniel Neely

The Irish Echo

Patrick is in top form, this is a not to be missed recording! Congratulations not only to Patrick but to all of the wonderful musicians who participated in this fantastic collaboration.” - Brian Conway
